Women's Health Week Project Officer (full time)

  • Marketing/event management skills required
  • South Melbourne location.
  • Women's health and wellbeing

An opportunity exists for someone with sound event management and marketing experience to co-ordinate and manage the activities associated with our 2017 Women's Health Week campaign, which is now a permanent feature on the Australian calendar, taking place in the first week of September.

We are the leading digital gateway for women's health in Australia jeanhailes.org.au. We combine research, clinical care and practical education for women and health professionals and produce easy to understand medical evidence in many ways through various mediums to suit our audiences, including print, broadcast and online media, presentations.  

Women's Health Week (WHW) was a huge success last year, including 23,000 participants in over 500 events across the nation. This was also supported by many organisations including high profile ambassadors, businesses, community, sporting and media groups across the country.

The job description is available below. The key result areas for this role are:

  • Driving marketing and promotional activities for the WHW campaign; including market and campaign research and contributing to promotional material design.
  • Ensuring the website is accurate and current in relation to WHW activities and user experience.
  • Planning and organising resources for every event, including anticipating possible issues and developing solutions.
  • Event Management support for corporate event hosts in relation to promotion, logistics and event management for large participant numbers.
  • Acting as the key contact for individuals and organisations promoting and hosting events; this includes event coordination, providing information and advice, & problem solving.

Essential skills experience and attributes

  • A relevant qualification in event management, public relations or marketing/communications.
  • At least three year's practical experience in event management or a marketing/communications role with event management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with working on website copy and design layout to maximise user experience
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Please note: this role is not suited to a new graduate, but to someone with considerable practical event management skills and experience.

Desirable

  • Exposure or working closely with a Not for Profit or health campaign is ideal, but not required.

Only Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, and New Zealand citizens who have entered Australia on a valid passport, who are allowed to stay and work in Australia without restriction, can gain employment with Jean Hailes. GRAPHIC DESIGNER (full-time)

An opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced graphic designer to join the leading digital gateway for women's health in Australia jeanhailes.org.au. We combine research, clinical care and practical education for women and health professionals. Our key point of difference is the translation and dissemination of research and medical evidence into easy-to-understand health information delivered in multiple ways to suit our audiences.

If you are a skilled and creative graphic designer, experienced in executing the complete end to end design process for all communications – from initial planning, through concept development, to execution of the final products – please apply (see below).

  • Graphic design (new and existing)
    Developing and producing high quality design and artwork for various advertising mediums (print and digital)
  • Planning and business improvement
    Contributing to the development of a design plan for resources
  • Resource management
    Working with the Jean Hailes team to ensure resources are regularly updated, manage printing and conduct quality assurance

Essential skills, experience and attributes

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in graphic and digital design.
  • At least three year's practical graphic design experience including evidence of the development of a variety of design solutions for visual communication, publication and display using print, digital and other forms of visual media
  • Significant experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
