Community education with a Jean Hailes speaker
Jean Hailes community events are fully booked for 2016. If you would like to hold an event in 2017 please complete the form below and we will be in touch as soon as we start planning for 2017.
In partnership with health and community organisations Jean Hailes conducts community education sessions and forums for women and their families. These sessions are suitable for a variety of organisations such as community groups, women's clubs, corporate and workplace settings.
Community events (75+) for women and their families
All aspects of the events are decided between Jean Hailes and the partner organisation including what health issues are to be discussed, the format of the event, promotional activities and financial contributions. Jean Hailes supports the event through the provision of keynote speakers who are eminent in the field of women's health as well as health information resources. The partner organsation provides the venue, catering and local promotion.
Partner organisations can be women's health organisations, community or regional health services, Primary Health Networks (PHN) or other community organisations.
When we conduct community education sessions we also like to offer extra tailored events for local health professionals from the same community in the same visit. If you are interested in having both just let us know when you are filling out the booking form below.
Our speakers deliver evidence-based women's health education covering a range of important topics including:
- Health checks and screening
- Emotional health and wellbeing – depression, anxiety, stress
- Heart health
- Bone health
- Sexual health – fertility, contraception, libido
- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
- Menstrual cycle
How much does it cost?
The cost to your organisation will include the fees associated with the speaker/s preparation time, presentation time and travel. Fees may be negotiated under certain circumstances, so contact us for more information.
How far do we go?
We are a national organisation and even though we are based in Melbourne, we aim to deliver sessions in every state of Australia.
Which requests can we support?
We are not always able to meet all requests so please give us as much information as possible about your event to help us process your request.
For larger community forums we prioritise requests according to the need for women's health information in the community, the capacity of the partner organisation to help Jean Hailes develop a relevant and interesting program, to promote and support the event, and to help engage the local community and health professionals.
