How we help parents
The What Were We Thinking! blog and app are based on the What Were We Thinking! program, an evidence-based intervention developed and run by the Jean Hailes Research Unit (a formal partnership between Monash University and Jean Hailes for Women's Health). This program teaches new mothers and fathers both practical skills for settling babies and ideas to help them adjust to changes in their relationship that can come with parenthood.
The blog is a space where new parents, and those supporting them, can come to share their experiences of life with a new baby and learn from the experiences of others. By sharing their unique perspectives on life with a new baby, parent bloggers not only provide comfort for others with similar experiences, they also receive timely reassurance and advice through an expertly written blog response.
Free to download in iOS and Android, the app provides week-by-week information on essential topics to help mums and dads (and anyone supporting them) adjust well to the first six months of life with a baby. As you navigate the highs and lows of a new world this app gives you the knowledge, skills and reassurance to become a confident parent.
