In April 2015, Jean Hailes experts went to Mordialloc in Melbourne’s south east to talk to Bayside women about Women’s Stuff: food, sex & hormones.
The Rotary Club of Mordialloc has a very strong commitment to making health information and health services accessible to women and invited Jean Hailes to present a range of topics relevant to women of all ages.
The program included:
- Jean Hailes naturopath Sandra Villella who talked about food as medicine, superfoods, supplements and great food suggestions for women’s health
- Endocrinologist Dr Sonia Davison who discussed the role of hormones in the body at different stages of life and their impact on women’s health
- Sex educator and Age columnist Maureen Matthews who shared her thoughts about the importance of communication, prioritising your relationship with your partner and that intimacy does not have to involve sex
More than 220 women registered to attend the event and all made a gold coin donation at the door. The $289.00 raised will be donated to Emerge women’s and children’s support network, a specialist domestic violence service in the area.
