On 11 September 2018, as part of our annual Women's Health Week, a team from Jean Hailes for Women's Health delivered a free one-day conference about women's health to 160 Year 7-8 schoolgirls in the Southern Grampians region of Victoria.
The aim was to empower the girls with a wealth of women's health information through presentations, small group workshops and activities, on topics including menstruation, body awareness, nutrition, and media and body image.
The day was a huge success (and loads of fun!) and gave the students the chance to hear from health experts who are passionate about educating young women on age-appropriate health topics.
The day was made possible with support from the Eirene Lucas Foundation. We'd also like to thank Western District Health Services and the local high schools for their support with this event.
