Jean Hailes for Women's Health recently partnered with leading youth mental health organisation headspace to present to 210 high school girls in Hamilton, Victoria. The Girls Conference was hosted and coordinated by the Western District Health Service and aimed to address key mental health issues identified by female youth, aged 13 – 15 within the local District. Topics included: self-esteem, body confidence, online bullying and self-harm.
A headspace psychologist provided the keynote address, supported by presentations from a member of the headspace Youth Reference Group, local health nurse and sexual health clinic and a member from the Hamilton and Surrounds Mental Health Group.
