Jean Hailes for Women's Health is pleased to announce a Major Community Partnership with Aspire Outdoor and She Went Wild to present the inaugural Women's Adventure Film Tour as part of the 2017 Women's Health Week campaign.
Jean Hailes for Women's Health aims to inspire and encourage women around Australia to be the healthiest and best they can be. Together with Aspire Outdoor, the Women's Adventure Film Tour in collaboration with She Went Wild will do just that. This incredible uplifting show features a selection of short films of inspirational women's adventure and cultural stories.
According to Janet Michelmore, Executive Director, Jean Hailes for Women's Health, "The films are not only inspirational, but demonstrate how the way you feel physically has a profound effect on your state of mind and emotional wellbeing. This balance between our physical and mental health is an important element of overall good health and a focus for this year's Women's Health Week."
"The events will also raise funds to go towards supporting the work of Jean Hailes for Women's Health to create a healthier future for women in Australia," said Ms Michelmore.
Mr Toby Ryston-Pratt, Co-Founder, Aspire Outdoor, says the films have been carefully selected and will inspire women around Australia to take the time to look at their own health and wellbeing.
"The films are sourced from the celebrated Telluride Mountainfilm Festival in Colorado. All are entirely women focused adventure stories. In addition guests will hear from local adventurers live on stage, including Alyssa Azar, the youngest Australian to summit Everest, who will speak in Brisbane" said Mr Ryston-Pratt.
Women's Health Week is encouraging Australian women to make their own good health a priority. Held in the first week of September, it includes both online and on-the-ground events dedicated to getting women together to start making positive changes.
