Dr Sarita Jassal has been a Specialist Women’s Health GP for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1993. After completing her General Practice Fellowship and Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she moved to Christchurch, New Zealand, where she lived for 5 years, working in General Practice and Family Planning. Since her return to Melbourne in 2004, she has worked from Jean Hailes Melbourne CBD clinic.
Sarita’s passion has always been in the area of holistic health, having grown up with a mix of Eastern and Western influences and values. She is currently undertaking further study in this area through the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and is working towards a further Fellowship with this college.
Sarita is passionate about good health as a foundation to enable people to live the best lives they can live. Knowing that good health in the future starts with good decisions in the present, she focuses on inspiring and empowering women of all ages and stages to improve their health through a holistic paradigm. In the setting of illness or a confronting diagnosis, she supports her patients towards restoring wellness and regaining confidence. She is particularly passionate about good (and tasty!) food and its role in nourishing the body and optimising health.
Sarita loves being part of the team at Jean Hailes. She has always considered it a great privilege to work as a GP and to hear her patients’ stories - stories which give meaning to their past and present and which help to guide their future.
